Important Cities of Spain (Aurélien)



Madrid :

Madrid is the capital of spain. It is located in the centre of the country and is the largest city of this country with over 3 million inhabitants. There are the headquarters of the World Tourism Organization. But also the Prado Museum, the Reina Sofia Museum and the Thyssen-Bornemisza Museum which are among the most visited Museum in the world.

 

Barcelone :

Barcelona is the second most populated and visited city in spain. It is located on the Mediteranean Coast between river Besos and river Llobrega. It is very famous for her football team and her beach. We must not forget that this city has the largest metropolitan park in the world, the Collsera park, in front of Central Park in New York.

 



Valencia :

Valencia (Valencia) is located on the Mediterranean coast and has 850,000 inhabitants.It is famous for its City of Arts and Sciences at the futuristic architecture (as you can see from the photo). It has the first port of goods from Spain. And finally it is at the origin of the creation of the famous paella.

 
 
Sevilla : 

And finally the 4th largest city in Spain is Seville (Sevilla). It has 700,000 inhabitants and is located in the south of Spain in Andalusia (not far from the Strait of Gibraltar). This is one of the largest city in southern Europe. Its prestigious past and its artistic heritage have made her one of the most sought after tourist destinations in Europe. Actually its monuments, many artists who were born or have worked, its glorious history, traditional festivals, but also its climate have contributed to its fame.
